BQCL Propsed Development

The community league continuously receives updates, typically from the City of Edmonton's Planning and Development branch, regarding developments proposed within the Blue Quill community. This page provides a summary of what developments we are aware of. If further information is desired on any of these items, then you may either contact the President of the community league or the contact numbers listed below.

  • October 22, 2010: 2950 - Calgary Trail NW, Proposed to construct exterior/interior alterations and add a loading dock (down sloping loading space with dock leveler on north side of building) to an existing building for the purpose of operating a General Retail Store (F2 Furnishings Centre).

  • October 21, 2010: Desrochers, Bylaws: Resolution, 15552 & 15562, South of 35 Avenue SW and West of James Mowatt Trail SW. Proposed amendment will update land uses within the Desrochers neighbourhood boundaries to introduce Mixed Use land designations, conceptually illustrate the location of all stormwater management facilities, relocate the school/park site, extend the LRT corridor from Heritage Valley Town Centre to a proposed station along James Mowatt Trail, approximately 400 m north of 41 Avenue SW, and update figures and statistics based on the associated proposed Desrochers Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan.

  • October 12, 2010: 312 Saddleback Road NW, Proposed telecommunications facility installed by Alcatel-Lucent that includes a
    25.0 m monopole tower and supporting ground level equipment on a
    6 m x 6 m parcel of land.

  • September 23, 2010:  280 - Saddleback Road, Proposed to increase the Public Space of a Bar/Neighborhood Pub (Blue Quill Bar & Grill) (22.3 sqm additional public space / total 72 occupants) and construct interior and exterior alterations.

  • August 12, 2010: 13431 - 23 Avenue & 348 Magrath Boulevard (Magrath Heights), Notice of Public Hearing on Monday, September 13, 2010, for rezoning to provide for a range of housing forms, open space and public access to the Whitemud Creek Ravine, in conformance with the Magrath Heights Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan.
